Welcome to the Rainy Season...

The rainy season seems to be officially upon us (June 1st begins hurricane season). The clothes are no longer "allowed" to be outside on the line to dry...or at least for not longer than 2 hours for fear that they will get "bathed" again! :O)

My girls enjoy running under the gutters in the pouring down rain and my ears hear squeals of delight as they "dance in the rain." Then they proceed to the creek behind the house to play with neighbor friends.

Ah yes, the rainy season...a continuous feeling of dampness, but it is a reprieve from crazy humid weather.

The umbrella will be a close friend for awhile. :O)

Blessings on your day.

School...my girl's school, they will be getting out June 25th but it's as if they are done this week! My head/brain anticipated a full week of school with them attending morning and afternoon classes. This is how the week has gone so far--Monday full day, Tuesday they were dismissed at 2:30pm (normally it's 3:30), Wednesday full day, Thursday half day and Friday no school. And there you have it! No note, just word of mouth from teacher to student. Thankfully I don't have a job outside of the house since I really never know how schedules work. And yes, I did pray for patience this week...God's seeing how I do with the girls and school. Oh boy oh boy.

So, patience it is this week! :O)

Happy Mother's Day Mom's!

Just thinking of my girls makes my heart melt and my eyes smile! I am so blessed/honored & proud to be a Mother of my 3 girls, and God's got more of them in store! Motherhood comes with all sorts of challenges, joys & headaches, but all well worth it as the years go by. My girls are not my own flesh & blood, but they each join my heart together with theirs. God, THANK YOU for them...thank You for creating me to be a Mom to whoever You send in my direction.

I LOVE YOU GIRLS!

Hi Everybody! Yes I am still alive!

I've been in my bed for a good week with symptoms of Dengue Fever. It started Friday, April 10th with fever, severe headache and neck/head pain, nausea & vomiting. The fever continued on and off for a few days with total body joint pain. Went to the hospital on Saturday and they tested me for malaria and then I waited for the only doc on duty that day. Got tired of waiting and so went home to sleep. Sunday a friend brought me back to the hospital and that doc said that it was probably dengue fever and to come back on Tuesday so they can do a blood test. So I tried to force fluids and take tylenol. Tuesday rolled around, the doc did bloodwork and they gave me about 1 liter of IV fluids & told me that I had a severe kidney infection. I was there from 8am to 4pm and went home with antibiotics.

All of the symptoms didn't add up to a severe kidney infection so I went to another hospital. They did bloodwork & it all came up negative for infection. The doc was pretty sure that I had dengue fever based on my symptoms and that rest and tylenol was the only treatment. Recovery time can take up to a month, so I'm praying sooner than later.

How am I feeling now? Well, my head feels swimmy and I get headaches on and off. My appetite is fine, but I feel weak and have no energy.

Thankfully my Mom is here for a week and she has been an incredible blessing for me and my girls. There have also been major hands helping for the first week I was sick as well. Thank You God for supplying my needs during this time!

Take care,

Mish

Crazy Love by Francis Chan--Chapter 7

Hey Everybody!

Well, God gave me the opportunity to teach at church last night on Chapter 7 of Crazy Love. I was way challenged as God wants ALL of us...not partial surrender of our lives, but ALL. God stepped on my toes as He reminded me that my time is something that I cling to and take comfort in having things "all figured out." Well, God's working on me with letting go of my time to be used for Him and what He wants to do with it & for me to be okay when my time is interrupted.

I'm practicing that when I wake up in the morning I'm raising my hands in surrender to God...I CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITHOUT HIM! Also praying for the mind and heart-set as if today was my last day to live. If that is how I live today, then what I do, say, how I interact with my girls, and how I react will be different than what it is now.

God thank You for revealing this to me...help me to pray and do this on a daily basis.

May you be challenged by this as well.

Nailpolish is for Nails...

Oh yeah, I bet you are wondering what happened. As we say in Belize, "mek I tel u." I was teaching phonics to Rosaria (not her real name) & the other 2 were outside (Stephanie & Abigail) painting their nails. Well, Stephanie comes in and smiles...um yep...she had nailpolished front teeth a silvery bronze color! I asked her what happened and she said that Abigail painted them! UGH! I told Stephanie to sit in the chair and I proceeded to tell her that the people who made nailpolish made it for nails...toenails and fingernails...NOT teeth! I did keep a straight face through it all...but man was I rolling with laughter inside! I also explained it to Abigail as well. After that I text a few of my Belizean friends so they could enjoy a laugh...and they did!

Oh my girls! :o)

Time at the Belize Zoo

The girls & I had an enjoyable time at the zoo. It's amazing that we went last year and the difference in them yesterday. They took more time observing the animals, they have gained more patience (and what an encouragement that was to me!), and got along much better. Thank You God! We took a few pictures that mimicked the ones from last year...but their faces and heights have changed. My girls are growing up and I am so proud of them. Oh the joys of being a Mom!

A Black Inner Tube

And to think that a black inner tube could entertain my 3 girls for hours! That's exactly what happened. The 4 of us trekked to Old Belize and enjoyed time in the sun making sandcastles, and swimming around in inner tubes. Then we linked up and went into the "DEEP" and crossed to the other side. It was GREAT!

Two out of the three girls brought their dollies and made a place for them to enjoy too.

The ride home was pretty quiet as we called it a day after spending 4 hours there. Time well spent for the beginning of their 2 weeks off for Easter holiday.

Here we come Belize Zoo on Wednesday! No doubt memories will be happening there!

Definition of a good/full day in Belize!

Ah, yesterday...

Got the girls up and ready for their day...did laundry and we cleaned & mopped the house before one of my friends watched the girls for a few hours.

I joined Rachel and the rest of the youth leaders and youth on a prayer walk around Belmopan. We prayed for businesses, people, roads, the government, church buildings. There's no doubt that God listened to our prayers, now to keep those prayers consistent and to watch God work in Belmopan.

Came home and the girls and I ate lunch, then we helped wash the bus. Washing the bus worked out PERFECTLY since it was way hot yesterday (easily in the 90's). Then off to Spanish Lookout for some ice cream.

From there we ate tortilla pizzas for supper then relaxed and watched Phineas & Ferb then Hannah Montana. Read a story, prayed and bed.

GREAT day.

Time for a waterfight!

The weather's getting hotter and so cooling off is a scheduled event...well at least it was today.

The girls are officially on Easter Holiday, and in between working on a shelf, the girls enjoyed soaking Rach's brother Bobby with water...a welcomed feeling. Soon after the girls and I filled our water bottles & Coke bottles with rain water and we dumped water on each other. A reminder for me to take a break from the tasks of the day to HAVE FUN and make happy memories with my girls.

Thanks for the reminder God, and thanks for coolin' me off! :o)

Happy & Sad Faces...

This month the standard 1 class teacher (approx 2nd grade) is doing a behavior chart for her class. 2 of my girls are in Mrs. Fuller's class and so one of my girls & I had a chat for her sad face. The reasoning for her sad face in school today...a boy threw the teacher's ruler and it hit her hand and then bounced and hit her in the eye. For who she is, she instinctively threw the ruler back at the boy. Of course the teacher saw her throw it, so got into trouble. Thus a sad face for the day. She came home upset and "hating" school. She said that the kids tease her all the time. I then had the opportunity to be a "Mom" and help teach her. We'll see what happens, but I told her that we will pray every day before she goes to school that God will help her be self-controlled and when they tease her to not tease them right back. We will pray James 1:19---to be quick to listen, slow to speak & slow to become angry.

Vamos a ver.

Oh the things my girls ask/say!

Once the girls were all ready for school, they came and sat on the couch next to me. Esther plunked right on my lap and asked "Why don't you have a boyfriend?" I responded with, " Are you helping me pray for one?" She then said that I should be the one praying for one and not her. I reminded her that we pray for all kinds of people when we pray, so praying for my boyfriend is ok too.

God, I think You will be hearing a lot about me today and my boyfriend (whoever & wherever he is), my girls are gonna be prayin'!

Outgrown Slippers

Hey Everybody!

All is well on the home front. My 3 princesses are playing out on the veranda (porch) with their dollies and are quite content.

Can I just tell you that almost every time I blink, their feet are growing or they "popped their slippers (broke their flip flops)." My girls live in flip flops, as do I...can't beat it! As my girls outgrow their slippers, I'm reminded that they are indeed growing. The size of their feet are not of much concern to me, as compared to their heart size for God. I want my girls to grow and change to be more like Jesus.

As new slippers are purchased, I am honored and privileged to be a part of their lives and to help mold them into girls who love God more and more.

Blessings....Mish & her girls
